Passion, ancient seeds and natural farming: free of pesticides and fertilizers. The agricultural society Kebio Srl was established in 2009 in the green hills six kilometres from Gubbio. This land area, the beautiful Tenuta di Fassia, showcases models of agriculture long forgotten. These natural approaches are sustainable, simple and inexpensive.

KeBio uses an open model of farming where the wildlife, soil and native plants are the star agents to bring to the dinner table, forgotten flavours and foods rich in energy. These products are nutritionally balanced so that they become health-giving: curative and stabilizing.

KeBio cultivates about 200 acres within an estate of 500 acres ,which includes lakes and oak forests, inhabited by pheasants, rabbits, deer, migratory and resident birds. The farm has accommodation for 30, a restaurant, and riding stables.

The estate of Fassia is also home to the Montemaggiore farm, which shares the same natural agriculture philosophy of food production as KeBio.

The KeBio company is headed by Piero Senator Musini who collaborates with Giuseppe Oglio, the agronomist responsible for on site education and training. To date, production has focused on green and red azuki beans, seed alfalfa, black wild buckwheat, barley, chickpeas, lentils, linseed, millet, yellow millet, sunflowers, ancient wheats and Senatore Cappelli durum wheat. An abundant vegetable garden also sells produce direct to the public.

In addition to Kebio, within the estate of Fassia near Gubbio, is the farm Montemaggiore, also directed by Piero Senatore Musini with the same production philosophy based on natural agriculture.
